NYTE Receives the New York Innovative Theatre Stewardship Award
The
New York Innovative Theatre Awards have become an annual event. In addition
to the many awards presented for the present season, three honorary awards
are also given. One is the prestigious Stewardship Award given for
significant contribution to the Off-Off-Broadway community through service,
support and leadership. And this year, The New York Theatre
Experience/Martin and Rochelle Denton, are the proud recipients. Photo is

speech presenting the award.
Previous
winners of the Stewardship Award are Ellen Stewart/La MaMa (2005), The
Field (2006), and the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New
York) (2007). It is an honor to be in this group. Pictured to the right

award from Kirk Wood Bromley. Rochelle Denton, Managing Director, took a
few minutes to thank all those who contribute and volunteer for NYTE
before introducing Martin.
After
the Award Ceremony was completed Martin and Rochelle had the
honor to meet playwright Edward Albee, who was one of the
presenters. Shown is Martin, playwright Doric Wilson, playwright
